The PTA Structure
The PTA Structure is made up of the elected PTA Committee, Associate Members, Helpers and Friends.
The PTA Committee
The PTA committee is made up of Parents, Guardians and Carers of students, friends of the school and members of the school staff. The committee members are elected at the annual AGM of the PTA and the next year meeting dates are agreed at the June meeting of the previous year.
We are looking for more committee members, if interested and require further information or wish to join, please e-mail us at comments@somervalepta.org. As life is busy and family committments are high, Somervale School PTA also welcomes Associate Committee Members. This type of member does not have to attend meetings but communication is via e-mail or phone or in person. These members generally work behind the screens or for a given event.
You would love to help but have no wish to be a committee member, then join our Helpers List. These are people who love to help but have limited time or wish for a limited involvement. Our helpers are called in to help at events with tasks such as washing up, serving refreshments etc. If you can not give any evening time, maybe you could help with shopping during the daytime or some administration work such as Webmaster.
